Talk Show Host Chris Rosebrough Threatened With Arrest At The Elephant Room II

Posted by Christine Pack

These are the facts of the case, and they are undisputed.

Fighting For The Faith radio talk show host Chris Rosebrough, an outspoken critic of seeker driven methodology and ego-driven megachurches, recently traveled, along with his colleague and fellow discernment writer Erin Benziger, to Rolling Meadows, Illinois to attend The Elephant Room II, an event hosted by James MacDonald of Harvest Bible Chapel and Mark Driscoll of Mars Hill Church.

Chris Rosebrough and Erin Benziger had both purchased online registrations for this event.

Upon entering the building to attend the conference, Chris Rosebrough and Erin Benziger (Do Not Be Surprised blog) were approached by security personnel who informed them that their registrations to The Elephant Room II had been revoked, and that they needed to immediately leave the premises, or be arrested for trespassing.

The Elephant Room II says in its purpose statement:
The Elephant Room is more than an event. It is the outgrowth of an idea. The idea that the best way forward for the followers of Jesus lies not in crouching behind walls of disagreement but in conversation among all kinds of leaders about what the scriptures actually teach. We must insist on the biblical Gospel, right doctrine and practice but not isolate ourselves from relationship even with those who believe much differently.
You may listen to Chris Rosebrough's interview about this event here.

  1. Hi Sola Sisters! I'm thankful for your space here!

I have a question..do you have any posts or any thoughts on modern day prophets? It seems there is a huge movement of "prophetic singers", preachers, and even worship dancers! A lot of it sources from singers and worship teams like, IHOP- International House of Worship...

I've just been wondering and thinking about this sort of thing..it seems unbiblical, yet the people involved seem so strong in the Lord and Spirit?

    1. Abigail - Here are 2 articles that might help you. I think this stuff is very unbiblical, and is sort of a substitute for deep Bible study.

  2. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. John 16:2

It appears this scripture is being fulfilled before our eyes.
