Rabbi Jonathan Cahn of the Beth Israel Congregation in Lodi, New Jersey, was given understanding of Isaiah 9. In July of 2005, Rabbi Cahn delivered a message before the Messianic Congregation parts of which could only be understood from the perspective of the near future events.
Great analogy. So often we are guilty of valuing possessions more than people, even our own family.

ReplyDeleteI laughed out loud when I read this post - and your comment about not agreeing with everything from Voddie. He is my pastor and I do not agree with everything I hear or read from him, either! But I have that same disagreement with myself :-)
'Tis good to be a member of a healthy, biblical church that is founded on the Word of God and seeks to honor Him in all she does. This allows us to accept one another when we have disagreements on lesser things.
For the glory of God and the good of His people,
I have tremendous respect for my own pastor, but I don't agree with everything he says or does. BUT, it is truly a blessing, as you noted, to be a member of a healthy, biblical church, because I know through bitter experience that those are few and far between today. I am so thankful for pastors who are bold and passionate about the purity of the gospel, and who labor to shepherd their flocks in becoming spiritually mature.
