"Men, protect your daughters!"

Posted by Christine Pack

“Picture this: Some 17 year old snot nosed punk comes over to take out your daughter, and you say, 'No you aren't worthy of her.' (Immediately everyone is up in arms over your 'judgmental' and 'harsh' position, and for 'breaking your daughter’s heart.') Ok, so let's put it another way now: You have a beautiful, brand new $200,000 Ferrari Testarossa in front of your house, and a snot nosed 17 year old punk comes over to take it for a spin. Would you hand him the keys? See, what your problem is, is that you value a car more than your daughter. Men, protect your daughters!”  - Dr. Voddie Baucham

  2. I don't agree with Pastor Baucham on everything, but I sure do love his preaching on the family. God bless him for his passion, and for being unafraid to stand up and speak with such conviction and boldness.

  5. Dear Christine,

I recently ran across a book by a Messianic Rabbi named Johnathan Cahn called The Harbinger.

It is about the past warning given to Israel and the same warning coming to pass in the present in America.(If you already know about this, sorry.)

Isaiah 9:10 The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycamores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars.
Rabbi Jonathan Cahn of the Beth Israel Congregation in Lodi, New Jersey, was given understanding of Isaiah 9. In July of 2005, Rabbi Cahn delivered a message before the Messianic Congregation parts of which could only be understood from the perspective of the near future events.

  6. Great analogy. So often we are guilty of valuing possessions more than people, even our own family.

  7. Christine,

I laughed out loud when I read this post - and your comment about not agreeing with everything from Voddie. He is my pastor and I do not agree with everything I hear or read from him, either! But I have that same disagreement with myself :-)

'Tis good to be a member of a healthy, biblical church that is founded on the Word of God and seeks to honor Him in all she does. This allows us to accept one another when we have disagreements on lesser things.

For the glory of God and the good of His people,

    1. I have tremendous respect for my own pastor, but I don't agree with everything he says or does. BUT, it is truly a blessing, as you noted, to be a member of a healthy, biblical church, because I know through bitter experience that those are few and far between today. I am so thankful for pastors who are bold and passionate about the purity of the gospel, and who labor to shepherd their flocks in becoming spiritually mature.
