  1. The pastor begins the radio program by talking about the Evangelicals and those he considers are "telling truth" and "resonating with the people" then cites, as the only two he knows of, Trueman and Phil Johnson?? Eh?

Johnson might find some easy targets but when it comes to John Piper, at best Johnson chastises John Piper for associations with Rick Warren while ignoring Piper's grave theological errors demonstratively evident in "Christian Hedonism". That Phil Johnson "telling truth"?

Sure, Johnson is righteously guilty of defending many right points but also of picking easy targets (Driscoll) and hammering them like it is a challenge while serving softballs to Piper with the worst criticism being "an association with Warren". He won't even touch the grave errors of Christian Hedonism and their implication never minding his flirting with Doug Wilson of the Federal Vision error.

And while Trueman is a thoroughly good theologian, writer and thinker, he doesn't mind giving allegiance as a speaker at T4G which is the product of a collaboration involving doctrinally aberrant CJ Mahaney.

Their gate keeping is, in my view, good in some places and quite negligent at others.

But weirder is the Pastor's claim Trueman and Johnson are the only two he knows "telling truth". Eh? Apprising Ministries among many individuals and groups seems to be the one driving the conversation these days. Is John MacArthur some how magically now subordinate to Johnson, did he forget this name? This Pastor does have a very narrow experience to say the least.

Your blog is a service to many, btw, though you may not agree with my assessment of the above.
